"We recently held a major event on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) with over 200 participants comprised of undergraduate students, academics, and business leaders. As a first of its kind for our University, we needed someone to capture and communicate the dynamism of this event in words and pictures. This was a challenging endeavour because it involved multiple events held over three days in numerous locations.
"Steven Moore did an exceptional job of capturing the detail, spirit, and excitement of the events and packaged photographs and text together in a format that we easily uploaded to our website. Steven's skill and passion for the event certainly came through in the communication product that he created for us. We have already signed him on for our next CSR student weekend. Dr. Jay Handelman, Associate Professor, Marketing "It has been a pleasure working with Steven Moore over the course of several years now. No matter what we throw at him, he takes the project in stride and delivers. He's just finished designing and writing a new website for us, before that he had created a magazine encouraging youth to enter the skilled trades, brochures, flyers, catalog entries, and many other assignments. And his service is top-notch; he is always available to us for that last-minute or rush job.
‘His writing workshop for Loyalist consistently scores in the excellent range for overall content, learning activities, instructor, and overall satisfaction. Steven is fun to work with and gives us tremendous value. I look forward to our continued collaboration for years to come." Chuck O'Malley, Corporate Account Manager "I found Steven to be very pleasant and easy to work with.
When we were re-writing all of the text on our website he was a wonderful resource and helped us to greatly improve our communications with our target audience. His patience during the project was much appreciated!"
Rebecca Mezciems, Assistant to the University Registrar "I liked Steven Moore and his style from the moment we met. His first Kingston Life writing assignment described his family's move from the city to the country to begin a rural experience near Kingston.
The story was funny, heartwarming, true-to-life and so well received that we began "Moore From the Farm", a light and often hilarious regular column chronicling daily farm life. "We are thrilled to have Steven contribute to each issue of Kingston Life Magazine. "Moore From the Farm" has become a delightful habit for our readers." Mary Laflamme, Editor & Publisher
"YCM is the voice of convenience retailing in Canada. Our audience comprises 38,000 independent and chain convenience-gas retailers as well as the suppliers and ITWAL wholesalers servicing this thriving industry. Our editorial mandate is to inform and educate convenience-gas retailers and help them operate their businesses more effectively.
As part of our editorial team, Steven Moore has been asked to deliver his articles in accordance with our strict publishing schedules. I am happy to report that he does this...and much more. Not only does Steven adhere to our production calendar, but he always delivers his copy ahead of schedule, an accomplishment which makes an editor's life that much simpler. Just as important, his articles are always beautifully and clearly written, requiring very little, if any, editing on my part. He has been nominated for a Kenneth R. Wilson industry award for his writing, and rightly so. Steven is an editor's dream: someone who can write and deliver copy on time. He is a joy to work with." Jane Auster, Editor "I approached Steven to build a speech that I had to make at the launch of one of our major projects for Toronto Hydro. This was a world-class project that drew major media attention and it was my most important public presentation to date.
"I had the concepts in mind that I wanted to get across in my few minutes at the microphone, but that's as far as it went. Steven took the basics and came back to me in only 24 hours with a prepared speech that not only captured the essence of each of the key elements, but drew them elegantly together. "I felt notably greater confidence before this speech knowing that it flowed so well and that it passionately and effectively got my points across. Many thanks, Steven." Leonard Allen, President & CEO "I knaw quit ealry on i neded hepls wth mi riting, but now I receive so manny complements on mi riting, I always tell them your the man what makes me sound lik I can putt two words together!
"Thank you, Steven, for your excellent work, attention to detail, and promptness in meeting deadlines." Marc Lamontagne, CFP, R.F.P., FMA "Over the past two years, with Steven's help, we have really developed our Registered Charity, Pathways Foundation.
We are now able to distribute thousands of dollars per year to support people with disabilities based on the regular inflows of donations that Steven manages. In addition, he wrote the funding request and was an integral part of the team that recently secured a $250,000 donation, equal to our total donations over all the years prior to Steven joining us on a contract basis. We now have a website presence, descriptive brochures, and a smooth procedure for evaluating grant requests. Steven has been invaluable in helping the Pathways Foundation Board of Directors accomplish all this and we are very grateful for his expert and professional assistance." Jack Arthur, President "Quinte Economic Development Commission has utilized Moore Partners to assist us in the delivery of our communication plan to both internal and external audiences for three years now.
"Steven Moore provides us with top quality work, delivered on time at reasonable prices. "Outsourcing our writing to Moore Partners allows us to focus our efforts on business retention and investment attraction activities, and we look forward to continuing to work with Steven." Chris King, Economic Development Manager "We contracted Steven Moore's services in the development of a 1-day course to help improve the communication skills of our employees. We provided him with some parameters for the content, and Steven took care of it from there.
His expertise in the spoken and written word, along with his knowledge of facilitation and adult learning, meant that we were provided with a very well-rounded course. It included a great deal of useful and relevant content, along with fun, interesting and relevant exercises. "The resulting course has been delivered to more than 100 participants, with extremely positive reviews. "It had some "back to basics" that I enjoyed and highlighted several areas of improvement." "Very relevant and helpful!" "It provided basic techniques/advice on how to effectively communicate with co-workers/clients, etc. These techniques can be easily practised and applied." "Liked the course, content and materials. Just enough practice and exercises, along with explanations." "The content provided ways for us to improve and become more professional." Jonelle Simms, Employee Development Specialist Employing over 300 people in the Quinte area, Pathways is a charitable organization providing residential, vocational, and recreational opportunities for people with intellectual challenges and acquired brain injuries.
Over the past three years, Steven worked on a contract basis for Pathways To Independence managing our marketing and communications. In that time, he did everything we asked him to and more: a new website, letterhead, business cards, a series of brochures on our various services, Advocate newsletter, press releases, advertising, displays, external presentations, trade marks and Official Marks, and media relations. He has accomplished our revitalization in times of severe budgetary restraints by paying attention not only to quality but to our bottom line. In doing so, he has displayed both creativity and flexibility. We are proud of our new "look and feel" and the job Steven did for us. Brian Steele, Executive Director If I was alive today, I would certainly have Steven Moore as my editor. He’s the best I’ve ever seen.
My characters and plots were good, but even I know that sometimes my descriptions went on and on. That’s what happens when you are paid by the word. Anyway, Steven could tighten up some of my wordy spots a little and really improve my work. There’s no question that he would be my first choice. Charles Dickens
